The Halloween Spooktactular Office Elevenses AKA Morning Tea!
In the British Isles, elevenses is a snack that is similar to afternoon tea, but eaten in the morning. It is generally less savoury than brunch and might consist of some cake or biscuits with a cup of tea or coffee. The name refers to the time of day that it is taken: around 11 am. In the Southern Hemisphere it is known as Morning Tea and one of the most favourite meals of the day. People within the office take turns (usually in groups) to supply the morning tea and this is done in rotation.
Morning tea in the office shouldn’t be a stressful occasion it’s a good excuse to mingle with colleagues in the canteen and for people who just want a cup of tea or coffee and a few yummy treats to go with it (they don’t always have to be sweet and you will notice the savoury always go first). After a few months it does get a bit competitive thou beware!
Maybe you already do a weekly or monthly elevenses in the office but if not there is no better date to start off a new tradition than the 31st of October 2014. It’s Halloween and this year it falls on a Friday! PERFECT!
